Words from the Coordinator

Kia ora! My name is Georgia, and I’m the Whau/Papatoetoe Coordinator for Raise Up. I’ve lived in Aotearoa for most of my life and am proud to call it home. I’m a curious, adventurous person who enjoys staying active, exploring nature, getting creative, and usually having music playing wherever I go. I also unwind with the occasional gaming session or a good book. I love working with young people and am genuinely interested in seeing rangatahi grow, gain confidence, and flourish.

Raise Up really stood out to me because of its strong values and its commitment to being truly youth‑led. The programme empowers young people to challenge themselves, build leadership and event‑planning skills, and connect with a wide range of people who make a real difference in their communities. It’s amazing to see rangatahi step into their potential and bring their ideas to life through each meeting and event.

I truly believe Raise Up provides meaningful pathways for personal growth and development. If you’re curious, I’d encourage you to give it a go — the programme is shaped by you. Please feel free to reach out anytime; I’m always happy to connect, support, and work together to strengthen our communities and see our rangatahi shine! Contact: Georgia.couch@ymcanorth.co.nz
