Welcome to the Manurewa Raise Up Crew!
What to get involved in your community? Raise Up is a group of up to 20 young people who are passionate about doing good in their community and creating awesome ways for young people to come together and have some fun.
We are starting a new crew in Manurewa next term and would love to have you join us! We meet once a week from 4-6pm to plan upcoming events, workshops and community outreach’s, play some sport and EAT (free feeds every week)! Joining the crew is also an awesome opportunity to gain leadership skills and experience as well as building your CV and learning a bit about life ahead!

My name is Mellisa Fonoti and I am the new Otara and Manurewa Youth development coordinator.
I was born in Samoa and raised in Christchurch until my family and I decided to go back to the motherland for a few years and now I am back in NZ and currently living in South Auckland!
I’m into music, long drives, trying out new food places and I also love to look for new sunset and sunrise spots with my friends. Although I live in Auckland, I am a massive Crusader supporter lol sorry not sorry!
Youth-work was never something I imagined myself pursuing until I came to South Auckland!
I see a lot of myself in today’s youth and only wish that there was a platform like Raise-Up for me to speak up, learn new skills and become a leader.
I am passionate about giving youth a voice to speak on the struggles they may face while also empowering their communities to come together as one!
My goal is to be able to grow these two South Auckland crews and come into a space where we are safe, comfortable, and have lots of fun together! This is a great opportunity for you guys to make new friends, talk on subjects that matter and have long-lasting effects.
Most importantly it is a great way to give back to South Auckland, the place we hold dear and near!

The Raise Up Manurewa crew are running an Ice-Skating event at Botany Paradice Ice Skating rink for all youth ages 13-18!
Tickets are $10 per person.
Event runs from 7-9:30 pm on Friday the 19th of May!
