What is Walk the Line Youth Fashion Show?
Walk the Line is now an anticipated part of New Zealand Fashion Week’s line-up
, a fun-filled show with a great cause for the YMCA’s ‘Raise Up' youth development programme and the invaluable work they do in providing safe, positive and empowering opportunities for teenagers from all walks of life.
Youth creating their own fashion identity outside of the restraints of ideas within this world. Focusing on self-expression, being unique and creative in their own way.
Main message of the show is to allow youth to express themselves
in a creative, unbiased manner through material and fashion.
I cannot think of a place where I am not occasionally surprised by astonishing beauty, through the eyes of our youth, by their creations and fashion statements.

It offers about 60 young, hopeful designers the chance for one of their creations to ‘walk the line’, with major prizes for winners along with opportunities within the fashion world.
Walk the Line is the largest initiative of its kind run for youth, by youth, and aims to give young designers aged 13 to 18
from across the country a chance to show case their talent at New Zealand’s premiere fashion event.
NZ Fashion Weekend provides the opportunity for the North Shore Raise Up crew to put its event management skills to the test both organizing and running the Walk the Line runway fashion show.
